This is the first really snowy day in Chicago this winter. I was hoping it would stay mild and I would not have to bring out the La Canadienne boots this year.
I stayed home and finally took down my holiday decorations. I love nutcrackers – the traditional soldier kind NOT the occupational/ethnic/national kinds.
After I had amassed over 40 nutcrackers in the ten-inch to three-and-a-half tall category I stopped buying more. Now I only acquire “practical” items incorporating nutcrackers like: spreaders with nutcracker handles; dishes with nutcracker patterns; nutcracker placemats, napkins and runners; nutcracker rugs etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.
