As part of my year of living civically I read the notices of public hearings in the morning papers. And today I noticed that the AMC Theatres River East 21 applied for a "1475 Consumption on Premises-Incidental Activity" liquor license on December 21, 2011.
I don't know why anyone would object to this unless the plan is to have vendors strolling the aisles hawking beer, wine and spirits during the movies.
But if anyone is going to object the objections "must be made in writing, signed by the objector, and received by the Department of Business Affairs and Licensing within 40 days from the date the application was filed...Specific grounds for the objection must be cited."
And the objection goes to....

His role as Liquor Czar must be a part-time gig because according the the Better Government Association's payroll database Commissioner Gregory salary for his role is $ 10,340.
