Tuesday night I got to Millersburg (just west of Rogers City, MI) a few minutes after the Presque County Fair Board meeting began. I am really enjoying being part of the effort to reinvent the Fair into in 21st century agriculture event. Each day of the Fair will have a theme: Thursday is Crafts; Friday is Plants/Gardens; and Saturday is Animals.
Lots to do up here over the weekend. The Forty Mile Point Lighthouse reopens for the season with a juried art show.
A local businesswoman, Cindy Vezinau, who is creating a conference center and inn called the Purple Martin and is involved in social services helping foster children has organized a three-day event called Purple Martin Mania.
Tonight kicks off the outdoor concert season at the Lakefront Park bandshell.
For a city of 3,000 there is a lot to do here.
NOTE: The library will be closed tomorrow and Monday for Memorial Day. I will post again on Tuesday.
