Today’s Chicago Sun-Times published an article on the City of Chicago’s online auction of surplus items. Like copiers and tables and a 2008 Mercedes Benz SUV and a 2008 Land Rover.
OMG-WTF!!!
Do they come with chauffeurs?
I’d bet they were purchased on a no bid, don’t tell nobody nobody sent about this purchase from a dealer with close ties to some one tied to City Hall in some way.
Here is the link to the article. And if you want to see what else is for sale check out www.cityofchicago.org/procurement or call (312) 744-4900
And my letter to the editor to the Sun-Times emailed this afternoon.
Regarding: “City makes millions from old junk” by Sandra Guy, Monday January 16, 2012
Three simple questions for Jamie Rhee, the city’s chief procurement officer or someone else at City Hall.
Why did the City own a 2008 Mercedes Benz and a 2008 Range Rover?
Where was the auction advertised?
And who bought the two foreign luxury automobiles?
